REEDSVILLE – Investigators looking into the shooting death of a boy from Manitowoc County now say the two boys involved were hunting alone when the accident happened.

The Manitowoc Sheriff’s Department says 13-year-old Kordell Dvorachek was shot and killed, while shooting blackbirds with another 12-year-old boy Sunday afternoon.

Investigators have not identified the 12-year-old, or his relationship with the teen.

However, for Charlie Walt, the thing that stumps him about Kordell’s death was the circumstances of the shooting.

“But as far as the shooting, I was awful shocked because of the age of them, with a gun,” remarked Walt. “That kind of stumped me a little bit.”

According to Wisconsin Law, no one from the ages of 12 to 14 years old may possess or control any firearm unless they’re accompanied by a parent or a person 18 years of age.
