Mike Bishop, the owner of Windy Hills Outpost in Marshall County, was indicted last April for violations of the Lacey Act, failing to lawfully tag migratory birds, selling and possessing wildlife in violation of the Migratory Bird Act and false labeling on waterfowl tags.
He was sentenced to 11 months in prison on Monday by U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann.
Bishop and his associates were ordered to pay $7,200 in restitution for the cost of the Wildlife Service undercover hunt and $3,450 in restitution to the South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks Department for illegally taking state waterfowl.
