NEAR STAYTON, Ore. – Corey Fred, 37, hadn’t been heard from since 6 a.m. Saturday, when he sent a text saying he was going hunting on his property about five miles east of the main part of the city of Stayton. Searchers found him dead Monday evening, and an investigation into his cause of death is underway.
