WILLING — A Bolivar man is in stable condition at Jones Memorial Hospital Sunday after he was accidentally shot the day before, said Amity-based state police.
Jamie Blauvelt, 38, was hunting in a wooded area about a half-mile from Fortner Road when he was shot by his hunting partner, David A. Rould II, 22, of Bolivar. The county 911 Dispatch Center got the call at 2:02 p.m. The two hunters were participating in a deer push at the time.
Blauvelt was hit in the left hip by a 45/70-caliber round. He was taken to Jones Memorial by the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. No charges were reported Sunday, but the investigation continues.
