NE: Federal indictment brought against York man

YORK – The Grand Jury for the District of Nebraska has indicted Ward L. Hunnel, 44, of York, of five counts regarding alleged hunting and firearm violations.

U.S. Department of Justice Criminal Chief Jan Sharp says that the first count charges that on or about Nov. 14, 2011, Hunnel transported an adult mule deer from Nebraska to Kansas without having a valid license to hunt in Nebraska.

Counts 2 and 3 allege that on or about Nov. 14, 2011, and on or about Nov. 21, 2011, Hunnel transported adult mule deer and adult white tail deer from Nebraska to Kansas without having a valid license to hunt in Nebraska.

Counts 4 and 5 charge that between Nov. 12 and 20, 2011, Hunnel was a felon in possession of firearms.
