Woman uninjured when hunter’s bullet hits house
DOUGLAS, N.D. – A north-central North Dakota woman is counting her blessings after a hunter’s bullet ripped through a window of her house.
Frieda Kassner of rural Douglas told the Minot Daily News she was sitting in her living room about 10:30 a.m. Saturday when she heard a sound like an explosion. She was hit by glass but uninjured.
Kassner said she and her husband, Wayne, allow hunting on their land but had not received any requests for permission from hunters recently. Based on the size of the bullet, the couple believes a deer hunter fired the shot.
The Ward County Sheriff’s Office and a game warden investigated.
Frieda Kassner said she’s grateful to be alive, and she planned to say her prayers twice on Saturday night.
Douglas is 35 miles southwest of Minot.
