A 34-year-old man from Fayetteville was shot and killed Saturday in a hunting accident, the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office confirms.

The accident occurred near Mount Zion Church Road in Seaboard.

Officials said both the victim and the shooter were hunting when the accident occurred.

North Carolina Wildlife will now lead the investigation.

The names of the individuals were not shared, and no charges were announced.
