BIGFORK – Authorities have charged duck hunter Brad Bell of felony criminal endangerment after firing his shotgun at two other hunters who allegedly boated near or through the man’s hunting area and decoys on Oct. 3.
According to court documents, two brothers who were duck hunting and boating upriver near Fennon Slough said Bell yelled at them.
Fifteen seconds later Bell discharged his shotgun. The brothers both reported being hit by shotgun pellets, and said their boat was damaged.
Bell claimed to have been firing at a duck.
Bell could be fined $50,000 and sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in prison if convicted.
