Friends organize fundraiser for injured hunter
Friends and family of Adam Pritchard are joining together to raise funds after he fell from a tree blind resulting in a brain injury.
Russ Wittman, who has been friends with Pritchard for a decade, described his “hunting and fishing buddy” as an avid hunter who had a passion for bow hunting.
“By June or July he was already rattling off the days until bow hunting season,” Wittman said.
Just more than two weeks ago, Pritchard was hunting with a family member when he fell from the blind. Wittman said Pritchard was hospitalized and is still feeling the effects of the head injury.
Wittman said friends and family are raising money for Pritchard, who has two children, to cover expenses until he can return to work as a plumber.
A fish fry benefit will be held from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Smithton Community Center, located at 200 S. Chestnut Ave.
The meal will include fried fish, potato salad, baked beans, dessert and a beverage. Tickets are $5 per person and children younger than 8 can eat for free.
The group also plans to hold a raffle during the dinner with various prizes, including a Ruger 10/22 rifle.
