A man was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries after accidentally being shot in the buttocks by a 10-year-old with whom he was hunting.
The accident was reported a short time before 10 a.m. Sunday in Helga Township, with first responders finding the 50-year-old bleeding from gunshot wounds.
The man had taken a 10-year-old deer hunting that morning – during youth deer hunting season – and after returning to their truck, told the child to unload the rifle.
After being taken to Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, the victim was airlifted to Fargo Hospital “due to the seriousness of his injuries.”
