ARENAC COUNTY — The Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced Feb. 17 that Terry Jay Wilson has been formally charged with various crimes related to illegal waterfowl hunting.

Wilson faces 26 total charges — 17 in Arenac County and nine in Mackinac County. A press release from the DNR said Wilson was charged with using a boat under power to hunt waterfowl and exceeding waterfowl bag limits.

Conservation officers allege Wilson shot waterfowl with a boat under power and encouraged clients to do the same.

The maximum punishment for the alleged crimes is $20,000 in fines and reimbursements, revocation of hunting licenses and one year in jail.;
