Iron County resident discovered near blind

IRON RIVER – A 60-year-old Iron County resident was found lying on the
ground by his hunting blind and later pronounced dead at the scene Thursday,
according to the Iron County Sheriff’s Department.
The man was hunting at Covenant Point Bible Camp in Iron River where
personnel became concerned when he failed to return to the Bible camp
Thursday evening. They later found him by his blind, lying on the ground and
unresponsive at around 6:42 p.m., according to a news release from the
sheriff’s department. CPR was performed but was unsuccessful.
The name of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of relatives.
Deputies did not release the cause of death.
Assisting deputies at the scene were Michigan State Police from the Iron
River Post and North Star Emergency Medical Service.
