PARIS, Maine (AP) — Maine fire chief Norman St. Pierre, 53, has pleaded guilty to shooting a bear and removing no-trespassing signs during a hunting excursion last fall in the town of Hartford.
The West Paris Fire Chief will not be allowed to hunt for a year and has forfeited the firearm used to shoot the bear.
Authorities say St. Pierre unlawfully entered the property and discharged a firearm within 100 yards of a residence without permission.
