GREAT DUCK ISLAND — Five hunters from Massachusetts and one Mainer are accused of killing 67 snowshoe hares over their daily bag limit Saturday on Great Duck Island, owned by The Nature Conservancy, according to the Maine Wardens Service.
Wardens say the hunters were 67 snowshoe hares over their daily bag limit.
In total, wardens say the group of six had killed 87 hares during their day of hunting. One individual was also summonsed for hunting without a license.
