Lafayette Man Killed in Hunting Accident

A 25 year old man from Lafayette has died after a hunting accident in Southern Vermilion Parish.
According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon, two individuals were hunting in a marshy area near Cow Island when a gun accidentally discharged striking the man in the chest.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notifications. An investigation is underway.
