South Carolina man injured in hunting accident
Pratt, Kan. – A South Carolina man received minor injuries in a hunting accident in Pratt County Saturday morning.
Steven Reeves, 40 of Gilbert, S.C., was struck in the left cheek with three pellets from a shotgun while pheasant hunting in a controlled hunting area two miles east and two miles north of Cullison at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
Reeves brother, Robert Reeves, 46 of Seneca, S.C., was swinging to shoot on a flushed pheasant when he shot and accidentally hit his brother in the cheek, said Mel Madorin, captain for Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
The estimated distance between the hunters was from 50 to 80 yards. Reeves drove himself to Pratt Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.
