The host of a streaming hunting show has been banned from hunting and fishing in Kansas for the rest of his life.

A federal judge handed down the sentence after Matt Jennings, the host of the hunting series “The Game,” pleaded guilty to charges in connection to the illegal killing of two antlered whitetail deer in the state, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Kansas announced.

The DA’s office, in a news release, said Jennings killed one of the deer in November 2022 in Florence, Kansas, where he did not have a valid deer tag. He then drove to south Oklahoma and “fraudulently registered the kill in Oklahoma,” according to the DA’s office.

A little over a week later, Jennings killed another deer in Kansas, the release said. This time, he had a valid tag, but was allegedly already over the 1 deer limit for 2022.

Jennings, 35, hosts “The Game,” a hunting series on the streaming networks Carbon TV and Mossy Oak GO. The DA’s release says the “two illegal hunts were featured as part of his show.”

As part of his sentence, Jennings is also prohibited from hunting or fishing in Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, Colorado, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota for a probationary period of five years.

Jennings has also been ordered to pay fines and restitution totaling $25,000.
