IN: Illegal Hunting Leads To Manilla Man’s Arrest

(MANILLA) – Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a case of illegal hunting that took place in rural Rush County that lead to the arrest of a Manilla man.

Authorities received a complaint about for shots fired. Deputies were able to obtain witness statements that led them to the residence of Jacob W.
Tillison, 20 of Manilla.

Indiana Conservation Officer Ted Stine arrived at the address and began to question Tillison about the shooting.

Tillison admitted that he had used his semi-automatic rifle and not his Winchester 30/30. When asked about the false information given, Tillison stated that he did not want to lose his semi-automatic rifle. Tillison was arrested and booked into the Rush County jail for “Obstruction of Justice” and faces numerous fish and wildlife charges that may include hunting coyotes out of season, hunting by the aid of a motor vehicle, hunting without a valid license and hunting without consent of the landowner.
