The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says the body of a missing 22-year-old southern Indiana man was recovered from the Ohio River on Saturday.
According to a release from the Indiana DNR, around 5:10 p.m. central time on Jan. 19, Hunter Conner’s body was recovered from the Ohio River by divers.
Conner, a native of Newburgh, was last seen in the water about a mile east of the Grandview Boat Ramp on Jan. 17.
Grandview is approximately 37 miles east of Evansville.
He was reportedly hunting for waterfowl when his kayak capsized while he tried to retrieve a duck.
The search for Conner lasted about two days. The incident is still under investigation, according to the DNR.
Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage the use of life jackets whenever participating in an activity near water.
