A captain with the Lockport Fire Protection District Thursday pleaded guilty to hunting on private property without permission.
John Batusich, 54, will pay a $250 fine for the conservation violation. He also will be on court supervision for three months. A charge of unlawful taking of waterfowl was dropped.
Paul Pesavento, 67, also faced the same charges and pleaded guilty to hunting on private property without permission and paid a $250 fine. He also was given three months court supervision.
The two men were hunting on property in Lockport Township the morning of Oct. 26. An officer with the Illinois Conservation Police Thursday described the property as undeveloped land with a wooded area and a pond.
