A Teen Is Dead After A Hunting Trip Turns Tragic
A teenager is dead after a squirrel hunting trip turns tragic.
All three people who were in the hunting party were friends from the Bartlett, Illinois area. They had spent most of the morning hunting before deciding to take a brake.
The group had been hunting squirrels and noticed one in the woods nearby. One of the hunters, a 14-year-old teen, stepped away from the group and shot at the squirrel. When he returned he noticed his barrel was pointing at his friend, a 17-year-old, who was lying on the ground.
That’s when his gun accidentally discharged and hit teen.
The 17-year-old was taken to Freeport Memorial Hospital where he later died. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
