MA: Hunter dies in apparent fall from tree in Erving

Authorities are investigating the death of a man who appears to have fallen from a tree while hunting.

Melissa Sippel, spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, said that emergency crews were called to the area of French King Highway around 6:45 p.m. Monday and, when they arrived, they found a 40-year-old man dead near the base of the tree.

The identity of the man, who is from Erving, has not yet been released.

The case remains under investigation by Erving Police and State Police detectives assign
