First responders rescue hunter from forest in Waianae (hawaiinewsnow.com)

First responders rescued a hunter from a forest in Waianae Friday evening, according to Honolulu Police Department officials.

Officials say HFD, the man in his 30s, got lost and could not find his way back to the Makua Keaau trailhead.

Firefighters arrived at the scene just after 6:30 p.m. and were able to find him in 10 minutes.

He was airlifted to safety, according to officials.

All HFD personnel were accounted for with no injuries.
