KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII – A Kona fishing charter boat captain is dead after being speared by a swordfish just before 11 a.m. at Honokohau harbor. Hawaii police identified the victim as 47-year-old Randy Llanes.
Llanes jumped into the water and speared a broadbill swordfish. The fish then reportedly struck Llanes in the chest with his sharp bill.
