Hunter to officer: I didn’t ‘really’ kill anything

BAY COUNTY — A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer who came upon a hunter on an island in the Choctawhatchee River asked the man if he’d killed anything, according to FWC’s weekly report.

“Not really,” the hunter answered.

The officer inspected and found one field-dressed squirrel and five ducks on ice.

The hunter said the ducks were wood ducks and that he knew he was supposed to leave a wing and the head on each for identification. He was cited for being over the bag limit and for not leaving waterfowl identification.
