Matthew C. Butler, 22, of Lewes and Jordan J. Dill, 19, of Ellendale were on Hudson Road when Division of Fish and Wildlife agents responded to a report of shots fired, said Sgt. Gregory Rhodes of the Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement.
Agents found a 22-caliber rifle with the men, Rhodes said.
Butler and Dill were charged with third-degree conspiracy, hunting during a closed season and illegal method of take/use of a prohibited weapon for hunting deer.
