Ridgefield hunter charged with reckless endangerment
November 22, 2010
RIDGEFIELD — There was nothing wrong with John Magliulo’s aim, police said.
But it was his alleged failure to notice another hunter who was near the deer he shot that resulted in Magliulo’s arrest Friday afternoon.
Police said Magliulo, 52, of Black Pine Ridge Road, fired at a deer on open space land near his home shortly before 3:45 p.m. He reportedly hit the animal, but his shot frightened the other hunter, who was close to the deer and called police.
Magliulo was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge of a firearm. He was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Danbury on Dec. 8.
