HARTFORD — A Watertown man found hunting on National Parks Service land pleaded guilty Monday to illegal gun possession, the U.S. Attorney said.
Michael A. Petro, 44, was arrested on Dec. 10 of last year when he was seen by law enforcement on the Appalachian Trail in Kent holding a 12 gauge shotgun, officials said. The breach of the gun was reportedly open.
Petro was scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 15 in Hartford. He faces up to
10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, according to the U.S.
Attorney’s office.
