Prince George Search and Rescue (PGSAR) carried out three operations on Thursday, Sept. 25.

Crews carried out a river search, rescued jetboaters stranded on a river island and took part in the helicopter evacuation of an injured hunter.

“These calls highlighted the importance of always carrying the essentials for your activity,” the group stated on its Facebook page. “If you become lost or injured, you may need to make a shelter, treat yourself or your partners for injuries, and be out in the elements for a while before SAR can get to you. Having the means to stay warm and treat injuries will make these situations much more manageable.”

PGSAR thanked Mackenzie Search and Rescue for gearing up for ground operations in the event that the helicopter couldn’t access the scene of the hunter rescue.
