Three arrested for alleged illegal deer hunting
SONORA, Calif.-Three Northern California men are facing charges after authorities say they were caught illegally hunting deer.
Tuolumne County deputies arrested the three men after getting calls from residents a little before 1 a.m. Thursday about gunfire near a Sonora subdivision.
The Union Democrat reports that when deputies stopped a pickup truck the men were riding in they found two dead dear, a Winchester rifle and a compound bow.
Authorities say 23-year-old Raymond Nicolini, 23-year-old Steven Graham and 46-year-old Timothy Heflin were booked on suspicion of hunting unlawfully and possession of an animal unlawfully hunted.
Heflin was booked on an additional count of hunting with an artificial light.
Graham and Heflin were booked and released, while Nicolini was held without bail for a parole violation. It’s not known if the three had retained attorneys.
