WEST POINT — 14-year-old Colby Fouch died and a 16-year-old boy was arrested following an apparent hunting accident Wednesday afternoon in the town of West Point.
Two boys were bird hunting when the 16-year-old’s weapon went off, shooting Fouch in the face and upper body.
Detectives arrested the 16-year-old on suspicion of discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, a felony, and he was turned over to the custody of the Calaveras County Juvenile Probation Department, authorities said.
