PRESCOTT VALLEY – A 58-year-old hunter who accidentally fired a deer rifle into the Maverik convenience store Oct. 25 was issued a misdemeanor citation for discharging a firearm within town limits.
The hunter stopped at the store when he realized he forgot to unload his hunting rifle. He attempted to ‘clear’ the weapon and thought it was pointed in the air. The bullet entered the side of the store above the beverage coolers and stopped when it struck the metal roof.
