On Friday, Feb. 22 at about 11 a.m. a man was brought into the Sonoita-Elgin Fire District after he accidentally fired a .45 automatic handgun into his thigh while hunting javelina in the Santa Rita Mountains.
“He was in fair condition but being as far out as we are you worry about internal damage to the leg,” said Battalion Chief Kevin Venos.
