A man fatally shot while hunting in Victoria has been identified.
Albert Miller, 64, lost his life on Saturday.
Mr. Miller was out shooting with a group of people in a popular hunting area when he was struck in the upper body about 11.30am.
The grandfather was a resident of Noojee, a town of less than 200 people. The surrounding areas are frequented by deer hunters.
Police suspect the shooting was an accident, the Herald Sun reports.
“We want to offer our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of a hunter who died in an unfortunate accident near Noojee,” the Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party of Victoria posted on social media.
People from Noojee and the nearby town of Warragul paid tribute to Mr Miller online.
“Very unfortunate. He was a great bloke,” one woman posted.
