12-year-old boy died of suffocation when hunting

COFFEE SPRINGS, Alabama — Kade Justin Bradberry, the 12-year-old boy found dead in Geneva County on Saturday during a hunting trip, died of suffocation, though the exact circumstances of his death are not clear, the Coffee County coroner told the Dothan Eagle.

Coffee County Coroner Robert Preachers said Bradberry’s official cause of death is asphyxiation of the chest and shoulders. Preachers told the Dothan Eagle that when he found Bradberry, a strap or harness often used by hunters who hunt from tree stands was wrapped around Bradberry and somehow caught in the Gator the boy was riding.
