A 66-year-old hunter was rescued from a remote area near Tok early Sunday after his ATV flipped. The hunter suffered severe injuries in the rollover crash.
“Due to the severity of his injuries, local terrain and the remote location, first responders decided hoist was the only feasible way to safely evacuate the patient,” Packer said in a news release. The man was about 25 miles north of Tok near the Taylor Highway, he said.
Upon returning to the scene the Soldiers hoisted the injured man into the helicopter for transport to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
