BASTROP — A Franklin Parish man who entered his trophy buck in a local competition has been cited for alleged hunting violations and contest fraud.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries announced the charges against Billy W. Jordan, 54, of Winnsboro on Monday. LDWF Enforcement Division agents had received information that Jordan had taken a buck in Catahoula Parish using a .204 caliber rifle — in violation of state law, which requires that deer can only be taken with a center fire rifle at least .22 caliber or larger.
