An Elbert County woman told authorities that ”she very possibly could have been shot by a deer hunter” early Sunday evening, according to a news release issued by the Elbert County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff Barry Haston said in the news release that a call came in to the sheriff’s office at 7:01 p.m. Sunday reporting that Meredith Watkins of 2607 Dempsey Brown Road had been shot in the abdomen.
