A 35-year-old Comer man was taken into custody last week after he was seen by a deputy on patrol using a spotlight and rifle to hunt from a vehicle on Vineyards Creek Church Road.

The man was charged with permitting unauthorized person to drive, hunting upon or discharging weapons across a public road, hunting at night, hunting from a motor vehicle and a probation violation.

An unlicensed juvenile was driving and another juvenile was in the backseat of the vehicle at the time of the stop. Charges were lodged against them in juvenile court.
