VERO BEACH, Fla. —A 12-year-old boy is in the hospital after he was accidentally shot with a hunting shotgun. The boy was shot at his family’s ranch on 37th Street in Vero Beach.

The child’s grandfather told WPBF 25 News that his two grandsons, one 12 and the other 17, had just gotten back from hunting duck on the property. The older grandson was unloading shells from a 20-gauge shotgun when it went off, striking the younger boy below the knee.
