Three men pleaded guilty to creating false hunting licenses and transport documents, and poaching a large deer in northwest Colorado.

Danny Jeffcoat, 60, was sentenced in early July to serve one year of probation, pay $408.50 in court fees, and donate $10,000 to Operation Game Thief, the tip line for Colorado wildlife violations.

John Summerville, 65, and his son, Jon Summerville, 36, were sentenced to one year of probation and will pay a combined fine of $14,000. The duo also pleaded guilty to illegal possession of wildlife and hunting without a license.

A fourth man, Kirk Anderson, 48, was arrested for unlawfully transferring his hunting license to the group. He was fined $220.

The court ordered all three men be banned from hunting for one year. They could face further suspension of hunting and fishing privileges in Colorado and 43 other states as part of the Wildlife Violator Compact states.
