Steamboat Springs — A team of six Routt County Search and Rescue volunteers rode about 10 miles into the woods Monday evening to rescue an injured hunter.

Incident Commander Kristia Check-Hill said the 52-year-old male bow hunter from out of state had rolled his all-terrain vehicle at about 5 p.m.
Saturday. Upper back pain developed, and the man’s hunting companion called Search and Rescue for help.
