HAPPY VALLEY, Calif. – On Sunday, Dan and Barbara White accompanied friends to Lakehead for a casual hunting trip but this trip would change their lives forever.

Barbara was driving an ATV with 11-year-old Chance Naegele when the brakes stopped working. Barbara and Chance were thrown from the vehicle after it hit a tree – Barbara died several days later.

11-year-old Chance is going to be okay but the recovery process will be long. His doctors say he will need multiple reconstructive surgeries on his face as well as speech and physical therapy.
