On Dec. 18, the Arizona Game and Fish Department received a call from the West Ironwood Hills Drive and Painted Hills Road-area about a javelina with an arrow sticking out of its face.

Investigators said they found evidence to believe another animal may also have been shot in that area and taken away.

Investigators looked at the suspect’s Facebook and Instagram accounts. What they found was incriminating. They appeared to show multiple photos of javelina kills, possibly from that same area.

A few days later, Operation Game Thief received another call about a dead javelina in the same area. They found evidence of two more kills with the bodies driven away.

The state kill-limit is two animals, but investigators said the hunter allegedly shot a total of five animals in 12 days.

A search warrant was served at the hunter’s East Side apartment and truck.
AZGFD officials found javelina hair, meat, teeth and bones.
