GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Guntersville Fire and Rescue says three adults and a 10-year-old boy had been stranded on an island on Lake Guntersville Saturday morning after their boat sank Saturday morning.

The group had been duck hunting when a wave flooded the boat, said Patterson.

Patterson says the hunting party was beginning to show early and mild signs of hypothermia, specifically slightly below-average body temperatures.

Upon rescue they were immediately taken into ambulances to get warm, and were alert and talking to emergency personnel.
