JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) – Kyle Lash, a game warden with the Wyoming Game & Fish Department, says Charles Chanatry acknowledged shooting a bull elk and burying it in the snow when he realized it was not a cow. Chanatry also told investigators he did not plan on returning to salvage the elk.
Chanatry was ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution for the elk. His hunting privileges also were suspended for two years.
