An exhausted and dehydrated hunter was rescued from a remote area Sunday near Logan Mountain on the North Fork.
Troy Myers, 27, was reported overdue by his mother Saturday night. He had been hunting elk all day when he aggravated a previous injury to his knee.
Due to his injury, Myers was unable to hike out. By this time he also was exhausted and dehydrated.
A ground team was immediately deployed in an attempt to locate Myers and safely evacuate him. However, due to the extreme nature of the terrain, combined with darkness, heavy rain and high winds in the area forced SAR to abandon the rescue effort until Sunday morning.
