Recovery efforts for two duck hunters that went missing on the Severn River last Tuesday were suspended late Thursday afternoon.

Investigators have identified the hunters as Matthew Davis, and Earling Stephen Lamp, both 23.

A 911 call was made by two witnesses at around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, who said they heard a person yelling for help and saw a man go under water about 100 yards from shore near the Sherwood Forest community, Thomson said.

A 16-foot sunken boat, decoys and waders were found during Tuesday’s search, Thomson said. The boat was found in the same area where the first hunter was seen going under water. She said it’s still too early to determine how the boat sank.
