MI: Man faces criminal charges for shooting at deer in city limits

ALPENA — A 57-year-old hunter was charged with discharging a firearm within city limits. According to Conservation Officer Adam LeClerc the man was given a citation for hunting deer without a license and baiting within a zone closed to baiting deer.

If convicted he could face up to 90 days in jail and the loss of hunting privileges for three years.

LeClerc said the incident happened just after 5 p.m. Nov. 25, a gunshot coming from a small wooded lot north of town was reported.
