Two men were arrested for poaching big horn sheep in Gilliam County, OR on Saturday.
Oregon State Police and Fish and Wildlife Troopers responded to a report of a person gutting a big game animal and located a male identified as Justin Samora, 32. Troopers searched for another suspect, Cody Plagmann, 28, hiding in the brush just west of their location. They found him and also two severed bighorn sheep heads.
Plagmann and Samora had worked together to shoot and remove the heads of the bighorn sheep. Plagmann was arrested and lodged at Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility in The Dalles for Taking/Possession of Bighorn Sheep, Wasting of a Game Animal and Hunting on Another’s Cultivated or Enclosed Land.
Samora was arrested for Aiding in a Game Violation and lodged at Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility in The Dalles.
